Quran — Surah Al-Imran, Verse 3:13

"Indeed, there was a sign for you in the two armies that met in battle — one fighting for the cause of Allah and the other in denial. The believers saw their enemy twice their number. But Allah supports with His victory whoever He wills. Surely in this is a lesson for people of insight."

Our Story

BADR 313 was born from one of the most significant moments in Islamic history — the Battle of Badr, fought on the 17th of Ramadan, in the second year of the Hijri calendar.

It was here that a small, outnumbered army of believers stood firm against overwhelming odds. Not with superior numbers. Not with superior weapons. But with unshakeable faith, courage and complete trust in Allah ﷻ.

Their number? 313.

The Significance of 313

The number 313 carries a profound and recurring significance throughout Islamic tradition:

"We used to say that the participants of Badr on the Day of Badr were like the number of companions of Talut, three hundred and thirteen men."
— Jami` at-Tirmidhi (Hadith 1598)

Narrated by Al-Bara: "I and Ibn Umar were considered too young to take part in the battle of Badr. The number of the Muhajirun was over sixty and the Ansar were over two hundred and forty-nine (313). The companions of Muhammad ﷺ who fought at Badr were three hundred and thirteen, the same as the number of the companions of Saul (Talut) who crossed the river with him."
— Jami` at-Tirmidhi, Book 21, Hadith 1598

Abu Dharr reported: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, how many Messengers were there?" The Prophet ﷺ said: "Three hundred and thirteen, a large group."
— Musnad Ahmad, Hadith 22288; Sahih Ibn Hibban, Hadith 361

313 is not just a number. It is a symbol of those who stood firm when it was difficult to stand. Those who believed when belief was costly. Those who acted when action was needed.

What We Stand For

BADR 313 is more than a clothing brand. It is a statement of identity for every Muslim who carries the spirit of Badr in their heart.

We are inspired by the themes of courage, faith and standing firm against the odds — just as those 313 did at Badr.

Our collections are named in Arabic, rooted in the colours of Islamic tradition:

Abyad (أبيض) — White, a colour beloved by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, worn as a symbol of purity and faith

Aswad (أسود) — Black, the colour of the Amamah (عمامة — turban) worn by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when entering into battle, a symbol of honour and resolve

Khudr (خضر) — Green, mentioned in the Quran as the colour of the garments of Jannah (Paradise), beloved by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Honour The Legacy

BADR 313 is for every Muslim — brothers and sisters, young and old — who embody the themes of courage, faith and standing firm against the odds, just as those 313 did at Badr.
